GUEST TERMS & CONDITIONS


  1. Agreement with terms and conditions: By making a booking with Two Keens, guests acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
  2. Booking Confirmation and Payment: By making a booking with Two Keens, guests agree to pay a deposit to secure their reservation. The remaining balance must be settled at least 30 days before the check-in date. Payment methods accepted include bank transfer and credit card (additional fees apply for credit card).
  3. Interest on Trust Account Funds: By booking with TWO KEENS, you acknowledge and agree that any interest accrued on funds held in trust for your reservation will be retained by TWO KEENS. This interest is used to cover expenses and administrative fees associated with managing your reservation, including trust accounting, banking fees, adherence to our cancellation policy, and other related tasks prior to your arrival or in the event of cancellation. This practice is similar to industry standards, such as those employed by platforms like Airbnb. Acceptance of this constitutes your written agreement to this arrangement as required by Practice Directive of 2023 in terms of the Property Practitioners Act, 2019, on interest earned from Trust Accounts.
  4. Cancellation Policy: Guests acknowledge and accept the cancellation policy outlined by Two Keens. Any cancellations made within the specified timeframe may incur penalties or fees.
  5. Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that guests (especially international guests) purchase fully comprehensive travel insurance to cover your investment in your trip abroad. No refunds will be entertained outside of the reservation cancellation policy.
  6. Check-in and Check-out Times: Check-in time is at 3:00pm on the arrival date, and check-out time is at 10:00am on the departure date. Requests for early check-in or late check-out are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
  7. Occupancy Limits: The maximum occupancy for the duration of the reservation is the number of guests confirmed on the reservation invoice. Additional guests may only stay with prior approval from Two Keens and may be subject to additional charges.
  8. Use of Property: Guests agree to use the rental property responsibly and abide by all rules and regulations set by Two Keens. This includes respecting noise restrictions, adhering to no-smoking and no-pet policies, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the stay.
  9. Security Deposit: A security deposit will be required prior to check-in to cover any damages, losses, or additional cleaning fees incurred during the stay. The amount of the security deposit and details regarding its refund will be communicated to guests prior to arrival.
  10. House Rules: Guests are expected to comply with all house rules provided by Two Keens. These rules include but are not limited to no events or day visitors without prior approval, restrictions on noise after 10:00pm, smoking, pets, and parking.
  11. Maintenance and Repairs: Guests are responsible for reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the rental property promptly to Two Keens. Guests agree to cover the cost of any damages caused during their stay.
  12. Indemnity Clause: Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Two Keens against any liabilities, damages, losses, or claims arising from their use of the rental property.
  13. Force Majeure: In the event of unforeseen circumstances or events beyond the control of Two Keens, such as natural disasters or government restrictions, the agency reserves the right to modify or cancel reservations as necessary.
  14. Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
  15. Changes to Terms and Conditions: Two Keens reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Please ensure you have the latest version found here.
